State Senate Forum To Be Featured At County Convention
The Harnett County Republican Party County Convention is set for Saturday, March 24th at the Harnett County Commons in the Gov’t complex in Lillington. The highlight of the convention will be the four GOP candidates running the primary for state senate. Each candidate will address the convention and if time permits take questions. This is the only scheduled event that all four candidates will be present. In addition, the convention will conduct a straw poll vote of both the senate primary and the presidential primary. All in all this should be a very intriguing convention. The convention will also elect delegates to the district convention and to both the 2nd Congressional District and 4th Congressional District conventions.
Danny Moody chairman of the Harnett County Republican Party says “This is shaping up to be one of the most interesting and well attended conventions in memory. It is generally thought that the senate race will be decided during the Republican primary, so this senate forum is extremely important to both the voters and the candidates. I extend a hardy invitation to the convention to Harnett County Republicans.”
Moody continued by saying, “If anyone wants to vote in the straw poll they must be registered for the convention. Ballots will be given out at registration and once registration closes, no additional ballots will be distributed.”
